Brazilian Audiovisual Organization

BRAVO IS MORE THAN A FILM FESTIVAL.
IT IS A MANIFESTO.

A turning point in the way Brazil presents itself to the world.
No longer as a promise, but as an audiovisual powerhouse.

Born from the evolution of the Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival, Bravo emerges from the understanding that the entertainment industry has changed. The major studios are no longer the sole protagonists. Today, it is independent creators who set the pace of transformation. And it is precisely in this new landscape that Brazil finds its space to shine.

THE MISSION OF BRAVO IS TO ILLUMINATE & CELEBRATE THE RICHNESS OF BRAZILIAN INDEPENDENT CINEMA.

Bravo’s mission is clear: to shine a light on and celebrate the richness of Brazilian independent cinema, opening real doors for our talents to gain international visibility. We value plurality, representation, aesthetic courage, and the strength of narratives born in the diverse territories that shape Brazil—from the forest to the asphalt, from the backlands to the city centers, from small screens to the world’s grand stages.

The festival is organized by the Brazilian Audiovisual Organization and stands as the largest showcase of Brazilian cinema outside Brazil, with an exclusive focus on national production.

Unlike other international festivals that encompass a variety of nationalities, Bravo dedicates its attention and structure to projecting Brazil on the international stage—providing filmmakers, producers, screenwriters, and emerging talents with a platform where their work takes center stage.

Bravo is built upon three complementary pillars:

  • Film Festival – a curated showcase of powerful, auteur-driven Brazilian feature films;
  • Film Lab – a training and mentorship program that connects underrepresented talents with global industry players;
  • Film Market – a business hub that creates real opportunities for co-production and internationalization of projects, with direct support from funds such as FSA (Audiovisual Sector Fund), which allocates millions in resources for the sector’s expansion.

Our commitment is to the future — a future that is more plural, more equitable, more Brazilian, and more present in the world.

Because Bravo is not just Brazil in Hollywood.
Bravo is Brazil under the right spotlight.
