Since its inception, Bravo has introduced more than 200 Brazilian filmmakers to the world.

At Bravo, diversity is not a trend — it is essence. It gives shape, direction, and meaning to the festival. Brazil is plural, mixed, ancestral, and urban. And it is precisely this richness of voices, stories, and realities that we want to share with the world. Here, protagonism is collective, and each narrative represents a living part of who we are as a country and culture. Diversity is the soul of Bravo — and it pulses in every detail.

The Bravo Film Festival has a trajectory intertwined with the rise of a new generation of Brazilian cinema. Since its foundation, the festival has revealed talents to the world who today occupy the main stages of the international audiovisual scene — not only as representatives of Brazil but as protagonists of a unique, plural, and transformative language.

“Since its inception, the festival has been a catalyst for the visibility and recognition of Brazilian filmmakers worldwide.”

Names such as Kleber Mendonça Filho, Aly Muritiba, and Gabriel Martins had their first significant international market contacts at Bravo. Kleber, with his short Recife Frio, introduced the world to the restless vision that would later bring us Aquarius and Bacurau, awarded at Cannes. Aly Muritiba moved audiences and received an Oscar nomination with Deserto Particular, after catching public attention at Bravo. Gabriel Martins, with his poetic and socially conscious gaze, marked his presence with No Coração do Mundo and Marte Um, the film that represented Brazil at the 2023 Oscars.

But these names are just a few among more than 200 Brazilian filmmakers who have participated in the festival over the past 15 years — directors who transformed opportunities into careers, stories that moved from the margins to the center of the global creative industry.

This impact is reflected in numbers: in the past three years, Bravo has recorded a 40% increase in global audience and a 30% rise in international financial support. Prestigious brands and global players recognize the festival not only as a showcase but as a talent radar and a strategic space for cultural projection.

With each new edition, Bravo reaffirms its mission: to show the world that Brazil is not just a creative nation — it is a growing cinematic powerhouse. And it does so with courage, curatorial excellence, and a commitment to transformation.
